Charlestown man found with grenade remanded

first_imgThirty-six-year-old Devon Adams, a computer technician who plies his trade in the Charlestown/Albouystown wards of the city, was on Friday remanded to prison after appearing before Georgetown Magistrate Leron Daly to answer to a narcotics trafficking charge. He denied that, on March 11, 2018, he had in his possession 2.510 kilograms of cannabis for the purpose of trafficking.A second charge read to him stated that the Police also found a grenade in his possession.Attorney-at-law Keoma Griffith, representing Adams in a bail application, said that Adams has two young children and his spouse recently died. Griffith told the court that the cannabis was not found on his client, but in a yard at Sophia occupied by several other residents, where as a contractor he was carrying out construction works. The Police Prosecutor, however, objected to bail; giving as his reason that the Police have enough evidence to proceed with trial.Bail was refused, and the case has been set to continue on April 5.last_img read more
