Mesut Ozil sends message to Arsenal fans after demoralising Wolves draw

first_img 1/1 Comment ‘Good to be back in Premier League action,’ Ozil wrote on Instagram.‘But not happy about the result at home. Many things to work on. We have to keep moving forward with our heads held high.’Asked to assess Ozil’s contribution, meanwhile, Emery said: ‘He worked, he played well and I think he has quality.’Arsenal could be 10 points adrift of the top four pace should they lose at Leicester next weekend and result elsewhere go against them.Emery added: ‘I’m disappointed with the result above all because I think the players tried, the players worked, and the most difficult thing against Wolves is to score the first goal and take advantage in the result.‘We needed to score the second goal to take more confidence than we had at 1-0 and also because they are a strong team defensively, but also they have the structure offensively. They have the habit of playing matches with that result and being consistent to try to score and draw.More: Arsenal FCArsenal flop Denis Suarez delivers verdict on Thomas Partey and Lucas Torreira movesThomas Partey debut? Kobe Bryant, Dwyane Wade compare notes on training

first_imgThe pain persisted, leaving Kobe Bryant and Dwyane Wade with only one option amid a sleepless evening in Miami.“I had to go in and take care of my body,” said Bryant, who received cold tub treatment the night before the Lakers played the Heat in late November. “He came strolling in and had to do the same thing. We compare notes quite often.”Those notes involved more than basketball. They detailed medical charts, rehab routines and dietary suggestions. Bryant has tried to maximize all those areas as he recovered from season-ending injuries to his left Achilles tendon (April 2013), left knee (Dec. 2013) and right shoulder (Jan. 2015). Wade has had to do the same thing amid limitations in 2013-14 (knees), 2014-15 (left hamstring) and 2015-16 (thigh bruise). It appears likely Bryant and Wade will share more notes when the Lakers (15-59) host the Miami Heat (43-30) on Wednesday at Staples Center. Bryant said he and Wade have “developed a great friendship” ever since he entered the NBA during the 2003-04 season. Incidentally, Scott said those words before Randle had only two points and one rebound in Monday’s loss to Utah. Lakers guard Jordan Clarkson was equally ineffective. He had nine points on 5-of-18 shooting, marking the seventh time in the past nine games he has shot less than 50 percent.“As a player, when I got into slumps, which was pretty often at times, I stopped focusing on that end of the floor,” said Scott, who played 11 of his 14 NBA seasons with the Lakers. “I stopped focusing on the offense. I focused on the defense and other things to help the team with loose balls, steals, deflections, guarding your man. Forget the offensive end. That will take care of itself.”Wrong side of historyThe three NBA rings Scott collected represent the positive memories he has with the Lakers after playing for them during the Showtime Era.Scott will also remain associated with a few things that will go down in the Lakers’ record books for the wrong reasons. He is on pace to oversee the Lakers ending with their worst season in franchise history for the second consecutive year. The Lakers’ 123-75 loss to Utah on Monday tied a franchise record for the largest margin of defeat, matching a 48-point loss to the Clippers on March 4, 2014, under former Lakers coach Mike D’Antoni.“Any loss makes me [ticked] off,” Scott said. “It doesn’t matter if it’s one or two points or 48 points. Anytime we lose a game, I’m pretty upset about it.” “We talked this summer quite a bit about training,” Bryant said. “He was asking me what can you do at this stage of your career. Not just maintain yourself, but get stronger as the season goes on.”Growth processThe double-doubles seemingly grow by the game. Lakers second-year forward Julius Randle also notched his first career triple-double last week against Denver.Despite Randle leading his class with 32 double-doubles, however, Lakers coach Byron Scott wants more from Randle on weakside defense and executing off pick-and-roll plays.“I’d like for him to look to roll more, get to that basket and keep our spacing better,” Scott said. “At times, he seems to float around. He’s gotten much better at it than earlier in the season. The growth process for him each and every month has been good.”center_img Newsroom GuidelinesNews TipsContact UsReport an Errorlast_img read more
