Cassette tape makes for great retro iPhone case stand

first_imgThe iPhone 4 is a desirable piece of kit that you’d do well to hide when out in public. The cassette tape is a dead piece of technology that nobody wants, and hardly anybody buys anymore. Combine the two and you have a great retro case and stand, though. If you are old enough to remember, cassette tapes used to come in little clear plastic cases with a paper insert. The iDeck Tape peripheral puts both the tape and case to good use. The cassette is hollowed out allowing your iPhone to slide in and use it as a protective case. While the screen is still exposed, if you put it screen down it just looks like an old cassette tape.As for the tape case, it acts as a great iPhone stand that can also be folded shut to give an extra layer of protection to your iPhone. It’s also unlikely someone is going to see what looks to be an old tape and want to steal it.The dimensions of the case/stand combo are as follows:Cassette Tape Case: 11.7 x 6.2 x 1.1 cmCase Stand (closed): 12.7 x 7 x 2 cmCase Stand (used as stand): 16 x 16.5 x 2.8 cmThe only thing that is missing is a hole in the case for the dock connector meaning you need to take your iPhone out to use it. Still, at $18 it’s a bargain considering it has two functions and offers double the protection when not in use.Read more at Strapya World, via TokyoMangolast_img
